Taper Roller Bearings

Taper Roller Bearings have a unique coaxial geometry by design, which permit greater loads than Spherical Ball Bearings.

Whilst there are many other designs available, Single Row Tapered Roller are the most popular variant and we keep a large selection of popular sizes in stock, metric and imperial. There is also a small selection of sizes which are popular in trailers hubs and have a back seal fitted to the cone.

Single Row tapered bearings consist of a separable cone and a cup with the bearing roller elements held in place by a cage, which allows flexibility and manual setting of clearance according to the design requirements, temperature, fit and other influences.

With such high load capacities in relation to their size and the ability to handle both radial and thrust loads, taper roller bearings have become one of the most popular ranges used in agricultural and automotive hubs; other applications include mining equipment and construction.

If dynamic misalignment is likely, then spherical roller or ball bearings are seen as a better choice, unless the housing is designed to reduce this misalignment.
